COCKERMOUTH Titan Johnny Goulding has been named as the British Amateur Rugby League Association’s U21 player of the year.
Goulding, who starred in the recent Barla U21 tour to Russia, will receive his award at a Barla dinner later this month.
At the Titans’ annual presentation day barbecue the awards, presented by Terry Rourke, from the club’s main sponsors ISS, were shared among the squad.
Justin Rooney took the award for most appearances, Calum Tinnion most improved, Ben Swift young player, Daniel Rourke coaches’ player of the year, Marc Haycock the Man of Steel award and Liam Wild most tries and the players’ player.
Chairman Paul Henson also gave a special mention to Marc Haycock, who had been selected for the Barla U23 squad, and Goulding.
Coach Glen Burgess noted that national recognition was a fantastic accolade for the club and that all the players had done their part in the club’s successful league-winning season.
Training has started on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6pm-8pm.
