The 23-year-old Californian picked up a paid 12 points, that included two victories, on Saturday and was only denied a paid maximum after a collision with fellow Comets Andre Compton in heat 12.

Despite the impressive scores Ingalls is not resting on his laurels.

He said: “I feel I am definitely improving every week and so far everything is good.

“I am feeling a lot more comfortable on the bike and I am getting a lot of good scores at the moment but I know I can keep learning and progressing.

“I was upsetting not to get the paid maximum on Saturday but the way I look at it is that I should be aiming for a paid maximum this coming week.”

As well as scoring his biggest haul around Derwent Park, Ingalls also recorded his fastest time around the track.

Despite his impressive form at home, Ingalls is a complete novice at many of the away tracks but is pleased that the rest of team are helping him out.

He said: “It was pleasing to get my fastest time and I have just got to keep pushing myself and keep on trying to bring my time down.

“Everybody in the pits is helping me out and I have a really good team around me.

“My home form has brought my confidence right up and has given me a bit of a boost for some of the away meetings that we have got coming up.

“I hope I can just keep on learning until the end of the year and then I could come in next year full of confidence of producing some really good scores.”
